According to the latest issue of First Drop magazine (#91), they tell us to keep an eye on Liseberg’s Kannonen coaster in 2012. Intamin is expected to be testing a new style “soft” restraint system on the coaster this year, similar in concept to Vekoma’s new popular soft vest system.

Strange rumor coming from Six Flags St. Louis this week… and I’ve got to wonder if the same thing is planned for SFOT as well. If the rumors are true, Mr. Freeze will get a little change this season and possibly see the trains turned around backwards for the 2012 season. Mr. Freeze Reverse Blast? Can anyone confirm this?

Bis jetzt aber nur ein Gerücht ;)

Scheint wohl wirklich zu stimmen rock2:-)

There has been some good traction on the Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast rumors this week. Guests to visited SFOT over the weekend for the start of that market’s Spring Break, confirmed that not only was Mr. Freeze closed, but there was a sign at the entrance of the closed ride stating that there would be an exciting announcement coming soon. On the rumor mill side of things, the good news is that when the trains are reversed, they will still keep the same lap-bar restraint system and not add over the shoulder restraints as they did on Superman: Escape from Krypton at SFMM.

Workers at Lakeside Interior Contractors will exhaust every drop of 500 gallons of paint before they're done painting the Blue Streak's 2,000 feet of track. The coaster -- the oldest one at Cedar Point -- is known for its sky-blue skin, although the color's official name is "Blue Bell," said Kim McLennan, project manager at the Perrysburg-based Lakeside Interior.
About once every seven years the Blue Streak gets a fresh coat of paint -- partly to maintain its appearance, but also to weatherproof the wood.

Screamscape sources tell us that things are going well to make way for Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast. While it has not yet been officially announced, sources have confirmed not only seeing a train on the track backwards, but that they have begun testing the ride at night. So if you happen to be near SFOT or SFSL after dark… keep your ears open.
