Scarefest: Brave visitors to Alton Towers can now sleep over in the ruins

A THEME park near Uttoxeter is preparing for a fortnight of frights at this year's Halloween festival.
Alton Towers is urging Scarefest attendees to 'prepare for a night of frights' as it hosts its popular spooky themed event at the resort.

The annual event runs from October 18 until November 2, and this year the resort is plotting to host a 'terrifying' new experience which will allow the fearless to spend the night in the ruins, famously rumoured to be haunted.
The Ultimate Sleepover will for the first time see Alton Towers Resort open the doors for the public to spend the whole night in the ruins and discover what lies inside.
Returning for 2014 is The Sanctuary, which will open its doors for appointments to offer its patients a 'refreshing check up' – but a 'terrifying twist' awaits.
The old favourite, Terror of the Towers, will once again reveal its 'dark and horrifying' secret.
New for this year is the Scary Tales scare zone, where 'stories are rewritten to make nightmares come true'.
The park will be open until 9pm allowing guests to experience Alton Towers Resort's famous rides and attractions in the dark.
Katherine Duckworth, of Alton Towers Resort, said: "We want to offer our guests an experience like no other – we are constantly striving to provide visitors with something totally out of the ordinary and the Ultimate Sleepovers are certainly different.
"Alton Towers is famous for its historic ruins that date back to the 1800s, and for the first time we are opening the doors for the public to spend the night inside. But watch out, as there will definitely be some surprises in store. Plus, with old favourites returning, Scarefest is definitely going to be bigger and better for 2014."

For brave young visitors there's a chance to learn how to spook with Phil and Franklyn's Ghoul School, before they can meet up with the famous freaky four for more Halloween excitement with Skelvin's Spooky Storytime, Patch's Brilliant Bug Barn and Patch's Trick or Treat Party.

Selbst tagsüber war die Maze "The Sanctuary" wirklich wahnsinnig gut und durch die Katakomben des Schlosses wirklich sehr authentisch. Stelle ich mir ziemlich genial vor!
