2013 Neuheit: SlotZilla (Zipline) @ Freemont Street Las Vegas

Las Vegas wird wieder um eine Attraktion reicher! Gebaut werden soll ein Turm der aussieht wie eine riesige Slot Machine (die größte Slot Machine der Welt) von verschiedenen Ebenen aus können die Besucher dann, durch die Öffnungen der Slot Maschine, mit einer Zipline dem Boden entgegen fliegen. Eine Besonderheit wird die oberste Zipline, bei dieser wird man irgendwie beim Start zusätzlich beschleunigt (launched Zipline).

The guys at CoasterCrew talked with Skyline, the people making the new perment ZipLine experience coming to the Freemont Street Experience. They are going to make a big structure themed as a giant slot machine when it opens in mid-2013. Door panels will open as the riders zip out of the tower on one level, and on the top level they will introduce a new experience where riders will be launched for the first time at the start of their ride from the top of the tower in a superman style prone position. They describe it as essentially being shot out of a canon on your flight down through Freemont Street. They expect to start construction on this new permanent attraction shortly after the start of the new year.

Bestimmt ganz nett. Eine normale Zipline ist ja in der Fremont-Street schon vorhanden. Wenn ich mich recht erinnere waren dort vier Seile nebeneinander gespannt. Allerdings fuhren zu dem Zeitpunkt als wir dort waren die meiste Zeit nur die Mitarbeiter um Leute anzulocken. Weis aber auch den Preis dafür nicht mehr. Vielleicht weis ja einer der anderen West-Coaster Tourler noch was davon.

Ja es sind die vier lines über die Fremontstreet weg und bei uns sind sogar Touris geflogen..
Aber wenn ich mich recht erinnere zu nem relativ unverschämten Preis, ich meine es waren 20$ oder sowas in der Art.
Aber zu dem Spielautomaten da oben. Wo soll der denn stehen? Bei rund 37 Metern passt er definitiv nicht unter den Screen (27m) und muss demnach relativ weit wegstehen, um die Leute unter der Kuppel langfliegen zu lassen. Aber das wirkliche Treiben ist ja unter dem Screen, sobald man von dem Teil der Freemont weg war, kam man sich ziemlich allein vor. Bin mal gespannt wie das alles so wird und obs sich trägt.

SlotZilla Heading to Downtown Las Vegas

It looks like rides and attractions aren't completely dead in Las Vegas, after all. Downtown Las Vegas' Freemont Street Experience has announced a new high-flying attraction that will have everyone looking up next year: SlotZilla.

SlotZilla will cost a pretty tremendous $11 million to build, and will stand over eleven stories tall at its peak. The ride will feature not one but two different sets of zip lines that will send passengers soaring over Freemont Street.

According to developers each time a rider departs the giant slot machine arm above them will pull down, and the reels will spin. Obviously from the art the departure point for the ziplines will be a spectacle on its own.

The upper ziplines will be known as the Zoomline, and take off from 100 feet in the air. Passengers will actually lay in a harness for that one, making their flight of over 1,700 feet much like that of Superman.

The lower paths, known as a fitting Ziplines, will depart from 70 feet in the air, and stretch 850 feet to their landing point. It sounds like riders will soar in a more traditional zipline position on the lower level.

The entire structure and the lines are expected to open in June, 2013.

Immernoch nicht fertig, aber die Eröffnung ist angeblich bald!

Wie gewöhnlich gibt es in Las Vegas aber auch schon wieder ein ähnliches Projekt (nur Größer ).
