Australia is about to get its first taste of Legoland with a slightly toned-down, indoor version heading to Melbourne’s Chadstone Mall in autumn 2017.

The Legoland “Discovery Centre” concept — which is what Melbourne will receive — is a step down from a fully fledged Legoland theme park, but still features a small collection of interactive rides and attractions, and guests must pay an entrance fee.

Melbourne’s Legoland Discovery Centre will include a 4-D cinema, interactive shooting dark ride, “Miniland” Lego replica of Melbourne, as well as various other interactive games and rides for kids aged three-to-10 years old.

The development will take up 2800 square metres of Melbourne’s Chadstone Mall, which will undergo refurbishments in 2016 to prepare it for the arrival of Legoland.
