Hier ein aktualisiertes Artwork des Parks:
Polar Ocean World 1.jpg

Like Walt Disney, we believe that large-scale physical models are absolutely essential to the design of artistically successful theme parks.

Here's a look at another section of our in-house model shop- this area focusing on our Haichang Shanghai Polar Ocean World project.

In these shots you can see the variety of models built for the project, ranging from simple white foam core models to study basic staging and massing, to more intricate sculpted models that are actually used to design specific features.

This week we're excited to give you an exclusive sneak peek at our upcoming Haichang POLAR OCEAN WORLD project.

Slated to premiere in 2018 near Shanghai, this park will transport guests to three uniquely themed lands that aim to integrate marine life and attractions in ways never-before-imagined.

Guests arriving at POLAR OCEAN WORLD will begin their experience in the Sunken Gardens of AQUARIA- a breathtaking fantasy realm inspired by the works of iconic artists including Niki de Saint Phalle.

POLAR OCEAN WORLD's 2nd themed zone is RAINBOW FALLS- a breathtaking tropical paradise that explores the future of man's relationship with the seas.

The 3rd and final land in POLAR OCEAN WORLD is PORT MAJESTIC. Here within this enchanted "world frozen in time", guests will be able to explore the history of man's relationship with the seas.

Along with our partner, Haichang Holdings, we are sincerely excited to announce that the Goddard Group-designed POLAR OCEAN WORLD project has been fully-approved by the Shanghai Government! This means that hard construction will begin next month, leading up to a 2018 opening.

With the recent news that HAICHANG POLAR OCEAN WORLD has officially received the necessary permissions from the Shanghai government to move forward, we thought we would take a look back at the project's BLUE SKY CONCEPT DESIGN PHASE from 2013.

First up, here is a stunning illustration of an early concept for the park's entrance zone.

This stunning illustration by Christopher Smith depicts another early concept for the entrance to POLAR OCEAN WORLD.

While the design has evolved a bit, many of the most exciting elements seen here, including the integration of the coaster, the "magic window" interactive screen, and the Balinese water garden did all make it to the final approved design.

This week's final glimpse into the Blue Sky Concept Design of HAICHANG POLAR OCEAN WORLD takes a look at the Rainbow Falls aviary- one of the many places in the park where we introduced the idea of layering attractions- an element sorely missed in virtually all Chinese theme parks.

On the opposite side of HAICHANG POLAR OCEAN WORLD, forming the backdrop of the park's PORT MAJESTIC land, is the POLAR PALACE- a sparkling frozen peak home to a number of the park's rides and attractions, including the RIVER OF THE SNOW QUEEN log ride.

Goddard Group schrieb:
One of HAICHANG POLAR OCEAN WORLD's more intimate pavilions is the CORAL CATHEDRAL- home to the park's collection of tropical fish, jellyfish, and coral, all integrated with multimedia effects and optical illusions to create stunning displays unlike any seen before.

Located deep in the wilderness of HAICHANG POLAR OCEAN WORLD'S Port Majestic land, the ARCTIC ADVENTURE pavilion features two distinct environments for penguins, divided by a thrilling ice slide.
