Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (AMM) is looking for an operator for its Mega Theme Park-
ANKAPARK
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (AMM) is establishing – what is said to be - one of the world’s biggest
theme parks. It is expected to attract tourists from neighbouring countries and the Middle East. Three
million visitors are forecasted. Entrance fee will be 50 TL.
75% of the construction of the theme park has been finished. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has
spent around 800 million USD. It is scheduled to be opened in August 2016.
Ankara Municipality is now looking for an operator experienced in the management of such theme
parks. Maintenance of the toys will also have to be borne by the operator after their warranty period
expires. Interested parties are invited to contact the foreign relations department of the municipality.
Further details of the project:
ANKAPARK is being planned as a Theme and Safari Park. The theme park section consists of 1.2
million square metres, including 100.000 square metres of covered area.
It includes 1.217 pieces of toys (large/small) both in open and covered areas. It will have 14 roller
coasters. The biggest roller coaster is 870 m. long and goes up to 35 m. It reaches a speed of 110
km/hr. The Ferris Wheel goes up to 55 m. and gives a bird’s eye view of Ankara.
It is the intention that there will be 10 big tents so that it can be open the whole year round. These
tents will have different thematic activities such as dinosaur, laser and autorobot.
According to the municipality, ANKAPARK will have the richest collection of dinosaurs in the world.
Its giant dinosaur of 70 mt will be a candidate for Guinness Records Book. The Universal Studios
Movie System will be used.
The municipality is also upgrading the Ankara Zoo into a Safari Park on 940 square metres. The Safari
Park will be a first of its kind for Ankara and is also said to be the biggest zoo of the Middle East. It will
host a wide variety of animals from all continents.
The Theme Park will be connected to the SAFARI Park by 2 km monorail. There will be a 5 km rail tack
around Theme Park and a nostalgic train will run both for leisure and transport purposes. Visitors that
arrive the site with metro lines will be tranferred to the Theme and Safari Parks with an 8 km cable
car.
